The NewFields - Los Angeles Habitat Restoration Group specializes in native habitat restoration and land management at the urban/wildlands interface. We excel in finding sustainable solutions for restoring natural processes and functions of native habitat, emphasizing the connection of habitat restoration needs to existing soil, landform, and hydrologic conditions to develop appropriate and sustainable restoration and management plans. Our approach maximizes ecologic function and value and minimizes investment in long-term management.
NewFields' expertise in integrated habitat analysis supports watershed planning, water quality management, ecosystem restoration, and land reclamation. We specialize in watershed-based evaluation that considers the interactions of land use, ground water, soils, geology, vegetation, and engineered systems with surface water, stream, lake, or wetland conditions. Located in Sacramento and Los Angeles, NewFields maintains a diverse staff of ecologists, soil scientists, agronomists, biologists, and remote sensing and GIS specialists, with technical backgrounds that work together to create senior-level technical and management expertise, strategic planning and project coordination with a solution-oriented approach.
